Expert, Digital Fraud Risk Monitoring (40001596)

Job Purpose

The role will be responsible for designing and operating fraud and operational risk monitoring programs across digital banking channels, identifying emerging fraud threats, analyzing risk trends, and enhancing controls to protect customers and the bank from financial loss and cyber-enabled fraud.

Key Accountabilities (Expertise)

Design & Operating Digital Banking Risk Monitoring Programs

  • Design, develop, and maintain risk monitoring frameworks and surveillance programs for Digital Banking services.
  • Monitor customer activities and transaction behaviors to identify fraud patterns, operational risks, system incidents, and control weaknesses.
  • Develop and optimize fraud detection rules, early warning Key risk indicators (KRIs), risk thresholds, and control triggers across digital customer journeys.
  • Monitor emerging risk trends in digital banking, data management, and information security, and recommend appropriate control measures in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of monitoring programs, measure alert quality, and propose improvements to strengthen risk detection and prevention capabilities.

Data Analytics & Risk Assessment

  • Analyze large volumes of transactional, customer, and behavioral data to identify anomalies and emerging threats.
  • Develop dashboards, analytical models, and monitoring tools to support real-time or near real-time risk surveillance.
  • Prepare management reporting and risk insights to support decision-making and fraud risk governance.
  • Collaborate with Data, Technology, and Operations teams to establish and enhance data sources 

Key Accountabilities (Capacity Development)

Training and enhancing the competence of staff

  • Support management level in providing professional training in data analytics and system rule building. 
  • Understand new risk trends and learn data-based risk prevention methods. 
  • Effectively perform other tasks as assigned by the management.

Key Relationships

  • Direct Manager: Director/Senior manager, Operational Risk and Compliance Monitoring
  • Internal Stakeholders: HO Units and Branches
  • External Stakeholders: TCB subsidiaries/Crown, Visa, Master, Napas card merchants; Other Banks

Success Profile (Qualification and Experiences)

Professional Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Digital/Online Banking and/or E-wallets products and services.
  • Solid knowledge of Account Takeover (ATO) and Social Engineering Fraud schemes.
  • Understanding of security technologies and controls, including: Authentication & Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)/ Biometric Authentication/ API Security
  • Experience participating in security enhancement or payment system protection projects is highly preferred.

Skills

  • Strong data analytics capabilities with hands-on experience in: SQL/ Python/ Power BI or equivalent visualization tools
  • Knowledge of fraud detection methodologies, transaction monitoring techniques, and risk analytics.
  • Experience designing fraud controls, monitoring scenarios, and risk indicators.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and translate findings into actionable risk mitigation measures.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in at least one of the following areas: Fraud Risk Management, Fraud Monitoring, Digital Banking Fraud, Cyber Fraud, Transaction Monitoring, or AML Investigation.
  • Experience within banking, fintech companies, payment institutions, or digital financial services organizations is strongly preferred.
