Job Purpose

The General Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective management of month-end closing, tax, and statutory requirements. 

Key Accountabilities (1)

General Accounting Operations

  • Oversee general ledger activities, including account reconciliations and chart of accounts maintenance.
  • Ensure proper accounting treatment for all transactions.
  • Maintain strong internal controls over accounting processes.
  • Supervise and guide the accounting team to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Tax & Compliance

  • Manage all tax matters including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory obligations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and payments.
  • Liaise with tax authorities and external consultants on tax queries, audits, and inspections.
  • Keep updated on changes in tax regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Varify payment documents to ensure tax compliance and company’s rule and regulations.
  • Advise for build system with tax related matter

Key Accountabilities (2)

Fixed Asset Management 

  • Oversee capitalization, depreciation, and disposal of fixed assets. 
  • Ensure proper asset register maintenance and periodic verification. 

Audit & Regulatory Reporting

  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure smooth audit processes.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documents.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.

Key Accountabilities (3)

Process Improvement & Controls 

  • Improve accounting processes and strengthen controls. 
  • Participate in ERP/system enhancement projects. 

Financial Closing & Reporting

  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Analyze financial results and provide explanations for variances.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure completeness of financial data.
  • Prepare MOF report and other reports

Success Profile - Qualification and Experiences

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA preferred). 
- 7–10 years of experience, including at least 3 years in management. 
- Strong knowledge of Local GAAP and tax regulations. 
- Experience in financial closing and audits. 
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications 

- Experience in insurance industry is highly preferred. 
- Background in tax consulting is a strong advantage. 
- Prior experience in Big4 firms is preferred. 
- Experience with ERP systems such as SUN, SAP or Oracle.
