Job Purpose

Set strategic direction for valuation methodology, advise senior leadership, and ensure that valuation models comply with regulations, accounting standards, and support enterprise-level financial decision-making. 

Key Accountabilities (1)

1. Orientation of pricing strategy and integration into financial strategy, methodology improvement
- Building the company's overall pricing architecture in line with long-term development orientation.
- Establishing assumption standards, pricing stratification system by customer segment, business objectives.
- Monitoring the consistency between pricing models, assumptions, testing systems and financial reports.
- Advising senior leaders on product evaluation, pricing structure and portfolio orientation.
- Conducting compliance reviews of regulations such as IFRS 17, RBC... in pricing activities with support from management
- Supporting the implementation of projects to improve pricing systems, upgrade modeling processes and assumption management

Key Accountabilities (2)

2. Compliance control, audit
- Be the focal point for preparing documents, presenting valuation models to independent auditors, the Ministry of Finance or reinsurance partners.
- Build a system to store models, assumptions and processes to ensure traceability and cross-checking.
- Represent the company at specialized seminars, shaping the professional position of the valuation department.
- Propose improvements to internal technical audit processes and improve professional presentation capabilities.
- Participate in developing valuation policies, technical regulations and internal control standards at the organizational level.
- Coordinate the development of internal control forms and contribute to completing the valuation risk information table

3. Develop internal technical capacity and standards
- Design a mentoring program for the next generation of experts, maintain the quality of the valuation team.
- Develop a library of valuation models, technical assumptions, and standard documents for training and testing.
- Build a culture of quality control: documentation, professional review, and periodic assessment.
- Contribute to the development of a valuation capacity framework, used as criteria for internal recruitment, assessment, and promotion.

Ministry of Finance (including the Insurance Supervision and Management Department), independent audit firms and actuarial consultants, domestic and international reinsurers and brokers, bancassurance distribution partners, insurance agents and brokers, the Vietnam Insurance Association, corporate and individual policyholders, as well as international professional bodies and accounting standard organizations (e.g. SOA, IFoA, IFRS Foundation)

Success Profile - Qualification and Experiences

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Insurance, Financial Mathematics, Actuarial Science. Minimum 12 years of experience, having held the role of technical advisor or mentoring a team of experts.
Priority is given to candidates with a master's degree or have completed an intensive academic program related to Actuary/Analytics
Having a professional Actuary certificate (FIA, FSA, ASA, AIA...) or equivalent degrees in the field of insurance valuation
A solid understanding of accounting standards and industry regulations such as IFRS 17, RBC, LDTI
Proficient in modeling tools such as Prophet, MoSes, R, Python or internal valuation systems
Ability to read and analyze financial statements, EV, embedded value and product cash flow
