Head of Investment (Life Insurance project)
Job Purpose
The Head of Investment is responsible for overseeing and managing the investment portfolio of the life insurance company. This executive role involves developing and implementing investment strategies that align with the company's financial objectives, risk tolerance, and regulatory requirements. The position requires a deep understanding of financial markets, asset management, and the unique investment needs of a life insurance entity.
Key Accountabilities
Investment Strategy Development
- Formulate and execute investment strategies that align with the company's financial goals and policyholder obligations.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify investment opportunities and risks.
Portfolio Management
- Oversee the management of the company's investment portfolio, ensuring optimal asset allocation and performance.
- Monitor portfolio performance and make adjustments as necessary to meet financial objectives.
Risk Management
- Identify, assess, and manage investment risks in line with the company's risk appetite and regulatory guidelines.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to protect the company's assets.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all investment activities comply with local and international regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the investment team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Communicate investment performance, strategies, and risks to senior management, the board of directors, and other stakeholders.

Success Profile - Qualification and Experiences
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) or professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) are highly desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in investment management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful investment strategies.
