Head of Agile Center

The job holder will be the custodian of the Agile Operating Model and will play a critical role in leading the adoption of LEAN and Agile best practices to support the organization's digital transformation journey. The job holder is responsible for setting up the Agile Center of Expertise, ensure consistent use of Agile Frameworks and Methods and build momentum for use of Agile across the organization. The job holder will influence execution of in-flight programs and projects while leveraging them as use cases to drive adoption of Agile methodologies.

Key accountabilities (1)

Agile Operating Model and Execution/Transformation Roadmap
- Collaborate on the creation and implementation of an effective Agile Operating Model, transformation roadmap and drive supporting activities.
- Develop and monitor metrics to track the progress of Agile adoption, enablement, scaling and maturity to aid in accelerating overall Agile transformation efforts.
- Review and define Agile standards and best practices.
- Advance best practices for scaling and optimizing Agile practices in the organization.
- Standardize and strengthen the use of JIRA to manage the Product Development Lifecycle effectively.
- Develop and implement Agile Maturity Assessment Framework (AMAF) to provide development inputs/data for capability development. 
- Guide and promote the adoption and application of Scrum and Agile principles, practices, values, tools.
- Check on quality of sprint processes, lead sprint reviews and planning meetings with leadership teams.
- Facilitate ‘Big Room’ planning events with cross functional and leadership teams to align on outcomes, priorities and resource allocation.

Innovation Opportunitites and Impediments Resolution
- Work with cross functional projects teams and leadership teams to identify innovation opportunities and process improvements.
- Collaborate with others to remove impediments and agree on conflict resolution methods across strategic projects and related processes.
- Act as an Agile planning expert at the Portfolio and Release/Roadmap levels.
- Facilitate critical retrospectives (as brainstorming and training sessions) to identify organizational improvements.
- Provide progress reports to the leadership tem on Agile expansion, blockers and successes.

Agile Center of Expertise
- Grow the Agile Center of Expertise to meet needs of the organization.
- Manage and develop a team member of Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters. 
- Play the role of Scrum Master and Agile Coach to the organization in practices, patterns and underlying Lean, Agile and Design Thinking.
- Motivate team members to try out new out-of-the box approaches without taking undue risks.
- Provide leadership and coaching within Agile and Coaching Communities of Practice.
- Lift overall maturity levels to demonstrate sustainble performance gains.

Success Profile - Qualification and Experiences

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Banking and Finance, Technology, Business Administration or a related discipline
- At least 14 years of experience in a leading bank or fintech organization with a track record of leadership in Agile transformation at scale in large organizations.
- At least 7 years of experience as Agile Coach implementing Scrum or Kanban from the ground up for multiple teams
- Project management certification PMP ACP, SAFE, LEAN, Six Sigma Green Belt, Extreme Programming
- Professional Scrum Master certification  A-CSM, CSP-SM, or PSM II, PSM III
- Agile Scaling certification in CS@SP, S@S or CLP, CLE, Certified SAFe® Agilist, Scaled Professional Scrum™ Certification  
- Coaching certification in Certified Team Coach, Certified Enterprise Coach,  Certified Agile Leadership 1 & 2, Scaled Professional Scrum (SPS), Professional Agile Leadership (PAL)
- Knowledge of technical engineering best practices (test driven development, continuous integration, DevOps) is a plus
- Extensive experience in Agile Development and implementation of Agile Transformation Roadmap, Scaling Agile, operating models
- Ability to influence at senior level leadership levels across the organization
