Chief Technology Officer

Job Purpose

The job holder is accountable for the successful delivery of technology solutions to support the organization's business and digital transformation strategy. The job holder will work closely with business and project leaders to develop and deliver best in class digital architecture blueprint and ensure end-to-end quality for the products to be delivered.

Key Accountabilities (1)

Technology Platform and Partnerships
- Develop the technology capability model and architecture blueprint to support business objectives and growth needs.
- Design and implement the software development roadmap to deliver on digital transformation strategies.
- Identify, compare, select and implement technology solutions to meet current and future needs.
- Manage and optimize infrastructure assets to satisfy internal financial targets.
- Consolidate technology platforms and create plans for each.
- Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics.
- Lead technology-related discussions with other stakeholders to craft the customer journey roadmap and required products.
- Be the first technology go-to-expert and oversee the Bank's overall technology development and technology utilization plan.
- Steer executive management, project teams and external partnerships to align closely with and support development and execution prorities.

Key Accountabilities (2)

Project Management
- Manage assigned IT projects through Agile Development and Scrum methodologies for improved turnaround on progress and results.
- Assess and allocate required resources for projects, building business cases to support approvals required.
- Oversee coordination and delivery of products across cross-functional development teams for timely delivery of products/solutions.
- Monitor and evaluate implementation of products while developing enhancements based on implementation results/responses.
- Design and set product development priorities with evaluation and inputs from business teams ensuring products are delivered at the speed of markets.
- Engage project stakeholders and improve cooperation amongst related parties.
- Assess project risks and issues, establish mitigation plan, resolution plan, communicate and escalate timely to relevant stakeholders.
- Take responsibility for overall quality of project delivery before handing over to customer.
- Support the detailed evaluation of proposed IT solutions (where involved) based on expert knowledge and extensive experience gained.
- Manage project dependencies within span of influence, communicate and coordinate with other for critical dependencies.

Software Development and Innovation
- Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in the technology landscape and Banking / Fintech market offerings.
- Engage experts in the field for knowledge sharing / transfer to employees in the Bank.
- Take initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity.

Key Accountabilities (3)

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Oversee human resources planning and execution (headcount & costs) of their function
- Attract, onboard and retain the right talents for a high- performing team
- Establish and communicate function and individual KRAs/ KPIs, goals, action plan, expectations and results to reporting line
- Manage function performance & provide feedback regularly (following the annual performance management cycle);
- Define team’s capability requirements and enable team member’s professional and personal development through capability assessment, training, coaching & feedback, mentoring, etc.
- Motivate and recognize team members’ contributions towards the team’s shared goals
- Identify and monitor personal, professional development and career advancement of talents in the function
- Act as a role model and promote corporate culture at function level
- Understand & communicate relevant HR offerings to team members.

Success Profile - Qualification and Experiences

- A Master's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science or similar relevant field
- At least 18 years of experience in full stack development and technical best practices in Banking / Fintech
- At least 12 years of experience leading a team of developers in a controlled / simulated environment
- Extensive experience working on Cloud and in a DevOps environment
- Extensive experience in infrastructure deployment strategies / technologies to drive efficient working practices in DevOps
- Extensive experience with various types of architecture, test-driven development and test automation
- Proven track record in leading digital transformation and change projects that span multiple business units
- Knowledgeable with extensive experience in Agile Software Development and Scrum methodologies
